What is this – the PROF-FILO?
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Professional Master in Philosophy – PROF-FILO, supported by the Brazilian National Association of Graduate Studies in Philosophy (ANPOF), was created in a collective and collaborative way, starting its academic activities in 2017. After the first two years of the program, the philosophical community is still unaware of what is done within the scope of PROF-FILO. And, not rare, questions whether the professional nature of the master’s degree is consistent with the (minimum!) criteria for Philosophy in the postgraduate. This article aims, from the presentation of program data, to discuss the professional nature of this master’s degree, considering the inseparability between theory and practice in the teaching exercise – and arguing that teaching and research activities within the scope of PROF-FILO contribute to the process of identity re-signification of all involved in the Professional Master in Philosophy.
