Philosophy Teaching and the use of the Textbook: a necessary debate

Abstract
The objective of this article is to discuss the importance of the Philosophy academic community to value in its researches and activities the relation between teaching Philosophy and the use of an textbook. It comes from an evaluation on the social relevance of the presence and learning of Philosophy in the brazilian primary and elementary education using Philosophy textbooks resulted of public policies and questions discourses from the academic community (university professors), regarding this Philosophy teaching that is supported by textbooks to be effective. In those discourses there are, in some points, a exaggerated distinction between a classic text and a textbook. This task aims to produce an affirmative meaning on textbooks to Philosophy teaching and its qualified philosophic expression.
