Abstract

The article highlights the Bergsonian concept of perception in Matter and Memory, in order to stress the present reduction of our possible actions and its consequences. It discusses some effects of the isolation and social distance that jeopardize the porosity of the skin and the openness of the body to the world and develops the notion of a teflon-skin. All those issues are then articulated with Heinrich Von Kleist’s essay Über die allmähliche Verfertigung der Gedanken beim Reden (“On the gradual construction of thoughts during speech”). In this essay Kleist examines the intricate intertwining of thought, speech and the atmospheric changes of the Gemüt. Also explored in Deleuze and Guattari’s A Thousand Plateaus, Kleist’s discussion of the lively production and exchange of ideas helps us to evaluate some relevant implications of the situation of isolation and confinement due to the pandemy.

Graduada em Letras (Potuguês/Literatura) pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1976), graduada em Didática Especial de Língua Inglesa pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1977), mestre em Letras pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1982), mestre em Filosofia D E A - Universite de Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne, 1986), doutora em Filosofia - Universite de Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne, 1992), com pós-doutorados no Instituto Max-Planck de História da Ciência (Berlim, 2004) e no Centro de Pesquisa em Literatura e Cultura de Berlim (2007 e 2010). Desde 1994 é Professora Titular de Teoria da Comunicação da Universidade Federal Fluminense. Tendo se aposentado em abril de 2011, manteve-se ligada à Pós-Graduação da UFF até o final de 2012. Aprovada em novo concurso público, é Professora Titular de Teoria da Comunicação da ECO/UFRJ desde junho de 2012. De 1999 a 2005, dirigiu a Coleção Conexões, da editora carioca Relume Dumará. É pesquisadora do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico. Foi professora visitante nas universidades de Paris 8 (2000), Richmond (EUA, 2004), Perpignan (França, 2005, 2009 e 2013), Nova de Lisboa (2005 e 2013) e Saint Andrews (Escócia, 2005). Publicou os livros Nietzsche, o bufão dos deuses (no Rio e em Paris; segunda edição ampliada pela n-1, SP, 2017), Platão: as artimanhas do fingimento (no Rio e em Lisboa), Nove variações sobre temas nietzschianos, em 2010, Homo deletabilis - corpo, percepção, esquecimento: do século XIX ao XXI, e em 2015, L'homme effaçable: mémoire et oubli du XIXème siècle à nos jours (Paris) e Ruminações: cultura letrada e dispersão hiperconectada. Na área de Comunicação, tem-se dedicado à sub-área dos Fundamentos Teóricos da Comunicação e Cultura, desenvolvendo em inúmeros artigos e capítulos, sobretudo, os seguintes temas: contribuições de Nietzsche, Foucault e Deleuze para a Comunicação, subjetividade e cultura contemporâneas, estatuto da imagem, modernização da percepção, corpo e novas tecnologias, memória e esquecimento, ética e contemporaneidade. Participou da criação e coordenou junto à UFF e no Brasil, de 2009 a 2012, o programa de Doutorado Internacional Erasmus Mundus "Cultural Studies in Literary Interzones", integrado pela UFF e pelas universidades de Bérgamo, Perpignan, Tübingen e Jawarahal Nehru (Índia) - 5 instituições diplomantes - e mais 11 universidades (de diversos países) colaboradoras. Coordena desde 2017, junto ao PPGCOM da ECO/UFRJ, o programa Erasmus + de Mestrado Internacional Crossways in Cultural Narratives, integrado por 12 universidades estrangeiras.
