Thinking in pandemic times

Abstract

The article discusses the difference between a thought of what is happening today, in pandemic times, and a thought of the today. It proposes a philosophy of the today, paying attention to its political-existential dimension.

Marcia Cavalcante, Universidade de Soderton

Marcia Sá Cavalcante Schuback was born in Brazil 1957. She made her philosophical studies in Brazil at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) where she obtained her PhD exam 1992. Besides her degree in Philosophy, she even studied Architecture and got her degree 1981 1982-1983 she studied at Albert-Ludwigs Universitet in Freiburg in Breisgau in Germany under the supervising of Prof. Ute Guzzoni. Back to Brazil, she developed her studies on the work of Martin Heidegger what made possible her translation into Portuguese of Heideggers major work Being and Time , published 1989 by Vozes Editions. Between 1985 and 1992, she worked ascoordinator for the cultural section of the Forum for Science and Culture of the University Federal of Rio de Janeiro where she also worked as main editor of the Magazine on Philosophy and Aesthetics Arte e Palavra.
