Abstract

This article presents displacements of the idea of ​​“feminine” in relation to configurations of “love” in the history of literature. The construction of a feminine identity, which with different nuances permeates the western tradition, will be seen in the origin of poetry, in Homer; and in three modern expressions that reveal the passing aspect of the new times: Baudelaire’s Passant, Flaubert’s Emma Bovary and Proust’s Albertine. In these characters, one can notice traces of ambiguity around their appearance and intentions, which are shown in the way they move, or lead others to move, in love encounters.

Author Biography

Marcela Oliveira, Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ)

Professor in the Department of Philosophy and the Graduate Program in Philosophy at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She has a PhD (2014) and a Masters (2009) in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio); and a BA (2005) in Social Communication - Journalism from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Her research focuses on Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, Contemporary Philosophy, Theater Theory and Literature. She is a member of the Aesthetics Working Group at ANPOF. Author of the book "Theater of waiting: Beckett and the ruin of drama" (7Letras - 2018).
