What makes us think… Paulo Freire?

Abstract
The present text seeks to consider Paulo Freire's contributions to think about the teaching of philosophy in Brazil. After a brief reflection on the title of the periodical that receives the dossier, it situates the position in which Paulo Freire was placed in the present Brazilian political context as well as some academic criticism to the Pedagogy of the Oppressed. Then, it offers possible contributions of Paulo Freire to think the teaching of philosophy in three topics: a. The role of the teacher; b) the relationship with life; c) the position of childhood and some final considerations.
